Uh, did I miss something?

So I played this game and it was well-designed and challenging but then it seemed like there is still "more to come", such as actually finding the townspeople. It just ended with the revelation/narration of "I think there is more to this mystery"and then the credits rolled. Was that supposed to be a lead-in for a second episode? Im confused...
